Bratislava, 26 June 2024: GLOBSEC is collaborating with NATO's Public Diplomacy Division, the United States Department of State, and prominent U.S.-based think tanks (the Atlantic Council, Hudson Institute, the German Marshall Fund of the United States, and the Center for a New American Security) to prepare for the NATO Public Forum taking place on the sidelines of NATO Summit in Washington, D.C from July 10-11, 2024.

The upcoming celebrations to mark NATO's 75th anniversary come under the shadow of an ever-growing poly-crisis landscape across global affairs that has placed unprecedented importance on the defence of both allies and the Euro-Atlantic region. As leaders decide some of the most consequential decisions ever taken by NATO, this year's NATO Public Forum will dwarf previous versions in terms of importance and impact for the over one billion citizens across the Alliance.

GLOBSEC's presence at the Public Forum as the primary voice of Europe in Washington is a responsibility the organization is proud to champion. "It was not easy to get into the consortium of American think tanks as the only European institution. I am glad that the White House and the North Atlantic Alliance recognized the energy we spent on it. For us, it is not only an honor and a confirmation of our credibility, values and growing international impact but also a commitment to our further international activities. I am glad that GLOBSEC can represent the European voice, and specifically the voice of the Eastern wing, which has a particularly important role given the current security situation", said Robert Vass, President and Founder of GLOBSEC.

As the main guarantee of Europe's freedom, security, and prosperity, GLOBSEC will undertake all options and exhaust all resources to advance NATO's cause. "This partnership is also symbolic due to the fact that Slovakia and other countries of Central and Eastern Europe are celebrating 20 years since joining the Alliance, and thus, one stage of the idea of a united, integral and peaceful Europe was completed. At the same time, we see that we still have a lot of work ahead of us to accomplish this idea. Twenty years of membership in NATO is a successful story that is also linked to the history of GLOBSEC, as we organized the first edition of the GLOBSEC Forum in 2005", added Vass.

The upcoming Public Forum will feature an extensive roster of Allied leaders as speakers who will be addressing and answering the most pertinent strategic and cultural questions related to the Alliance and, most importantly, how NATO will continue to preserve our security in times of generational tumultuous factors.

Washington Summit and NATO Public Forum build on the success of GLOBSEC's previous engagements with NATO, including the town hall-style NATO Engages event in London in December 2019 and the Warsaw Summit Experts' Forum (WSEF2016) held on the margins of the NATO Summit in Warsaw in July 2016 further solidifying its role in addressing contemporary security challenges.

All event information related to the Public Forum can be found on the official website.
