Kersti Kaljulaid Joins GLOBSEC's Board of Directors

Bratislava, 6 June 2024. Kersti Kaljulaid, former President of Estonia, will join the organization's Board of Directors. Ms. Kaljulaid's appointment marks a significant addition to GLOBSEC's leadership, bringing her extensive experience in international relations, economic development, and governance to the forefront of the organization’s mission. This strategic move also strengthens GLOBSEC's position in the Baltics, reinforcing its influence and reach in the region.

Kersti Kaljulaid's distinguished career includes serving as Estonia’s first female president from 2016 to 2021, during which she was known for her strong advocacy for digital innovation, cybersecurity, and sustainable development. Her leadership was instrumental in advancing Estonia’s global reputation as a leader in technology and governance. As a prominent figure in European and international politics, her insight and strategic vision will greatly benefit GLOBSEC’s initiatives.

At the same time, Mr. Vazil Hudák concluded his position as the member of the Board of Directors to focus on advisory work for governments. During his tenure, Mr. Hudák was pivotal in shaping GLOBSEC’s economic projects and forging essential partnerships, setting a strong foundation for supporting GLOBSEC’s economic flagship event, the annual Tatra Summit.

Mr. Hudák will continue to support GLOBSECs mission as a member of International Advisory Council. He will be active particularly in the Economy and Business Programme. He remains committed to key initiatives such as the Infrastructure Development Council and the Danube Tech Valley, reflecting his ongoing dedication to regional cooperation and innovation.
