GLOBSEC strengthens its International Advisory Council with new members: Aivis Ronis, Anna Eliasson Schamis, and Petr Kolář

Bratislava, Slovakia – June 13, 2024: Three new members, Aivis Ronis, Anna Eliasson Schamis, and Petr Kolář, have recently joined the International Advisory Council (IAC) of GLOBSEC, Central Europe’s leading policy institute known for its world-class events and convenings. Their extensive experience and expertise will significantly contribute to GLOBSEC’s mission of enhancing global security and stability.

Aivis Ronis brings a wealth of knowledge from his extensive career in diplomacy and public service. As a former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Transport in Latvia, and a respected diplomat, Mr. Ronis has played a pivotal role in shaping Latvia’s foreign policy and advancing its integration into the European Union and NATO. His insights and strategic vision will be invaluable to GLOBSEC’s initiatives in the areas of international relations and security policy.

Anna Eliasson Schamis is a fundraising and marketing professional with nearly 20 years of experience in international policy, development, and humanitarian issues. Previously, Anna served as Vice President of Development and External Relations at the Atlantic Council, where she quadrupled the Council’s revenue. Anna has also served as Development Director at both the Aspen Institute and Cornell University. Her extensive experience in development and external relations will greatly enhance GLOBSEC’s efforts to expand its impact and reach in the global policy arena.

Petr Kolář is a seasoned diplomat and foreign policy expert with a rich background in international relations. Having served as the Czech Ambassador to the United States, Russia, and Sweden, as well as the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Mr. Kolář’s extensive diplomatic experience and profound knowledge of geopolitical dynamics will greatly support GLOBSEC’s work in fostering international cooperation and dialogue.
