GLOBSEC is delighted to announce its official partnership with this year’s Munich Security Conference (MSC). In doing so, it becomes the first Central European think-tank of its kind to enter into a close cooperation with the organisers and to share its ideas with the 450+ global decisionmakers that regularly attend this security policy forum.

MSC’s guestlist typically includes heads-of-state, ministers, leading personalities from international and non-governmental organisations, as well as high ranking representatives from industry, media, academia, and civil society. This year’s participants include UN Secretary-General António Guterres, EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg.

GLOBSEC’s policy outputs have also made their way into the MSC’s main report.  First, the MSC looked to GLOBSEC Trends 2017 to shape its perspectives on the future direction of Central and Eastern Europe. Second, the GLOBSEC NATO Adaptation Initiative (GNAI) is recomended as one of the top papers to be read by international stakeholders.

GLOBSEC is also delighted to be organising a discussion at MSC, where it will outline the key findings of GNAI to senior policymakers and stakeholder and analyse the European Union’s Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO).  As a part of the cooperation, MSC will be a partner at GLOBSEC Forum 2018 and featured in some of the key discussions.

‘‘We’re proud that the Munich Security Conference looked to GLOBSEC for insights on some of the major security challenges facing Europe and beyond,‘‘ says GLOBSEC President Róbert Vass.

‘‘It is another strong signal of the growing international credibility of GLOBSEC and its policy outputs. We also view our presence at this important event as a sign that GLOBSEC and Central Europe is increasingly viewed as an important player on the international stage and vindication of the key message underpinning GLOBSEC’s mission: to develop and disseminate ideas shaping the world.‘‘
